Reflection on Single Letter Composition

After completing the single letter composition piece, I am very pleased with the way my image came out. I believe that the strongest area of my piece is the format of my letters. I tried to make it look like my smaller letters were spiraling around one big letter, which is my favorite part of my image. One thing I think I could improve on, however, is the variety in my piece. I kept the same font and color of my text throughout the whole piece. Next time I could try to switch things up with a few fonts and colors.
The easiest aspect of the single letter composition to me is that I could create whatever I wanted with my one letter, B. We did not have to follow any specific guidelines except to only use one letter. I enjoyed being to make a unique piece, unlike anyone else's. One difficult part of this activity for me is making sure everything looked the way I wanted it to. I had to go back and fix some sizing and spacing issues with my image, but other than that it was not difficult.
For my single letter composition I used a few different tools on photo-shop. For my background to be both a shade of lighter blue and darker blue, I used the gradient tool. The font I chose to use was script MT bold and I also chose to use many different sizes for my font ranging from 55 to 235. I used the duplicate tool to make all the letter B's in my image. I also was using the rotation tool to put my letters at different angles. I was able to successfully demonstrate the objective in this art activity because I believe my piece is unique and suits me well. I was able to use basic photo shop tools for my composition, which helped me learn more about them. I think if I did this project again I would use more of a variety of colors and fonts, but I really like the way my composition turned out.
