Digital Paint Reflection
Though I did not have time to finish my composition, I liked the way it was starting to turn out. I believe the strongest piece of my work was the neatness of the paint. I was able to use the magnetic lasso tool to ensure that the colors were in the right lines, making the overall painting neater. There are a lot of different areas I can improve on as well. I did not start doing shading and that would have enhanced my painting more. I could have used different shades of orange, gray, and tan to make the painting look better.
I think the easiest part of this assignment was picking my photo and drawing the outline. Picking a photo was easy for me because I really liked the different colors making up the butterfly. The drawing of the butterfly's outline was also very easy as well, since i just had to follow the lines. There were many aspects of this project that I thought were difficult. The different layers I was using were confusing to me and I was not sure which one to paint on. It also was taking a long time to grab each section of color with the eyedropper tool, using the lasso tool, followed by paint bucket to get the color on the painting. The overall process was very confusing to me, which made it hard.
For my materials and tools I used paintbrush, eyedropper tool, lasso tool, free transform, paint bucket, multiply layers, and filters. I was planning to use other tools such as blend modes and mixer brush tool. I used my tools to start the basis of my painting such as the drawing and starting to fill in color. I believe I met the objectives of the project because I managed to use paint brush tool and eyedropper. I also used previously learned tools and used multiple layers for my composition. If I could do this again I would do it differently. I would probably used a less complicated picture, with less shades, so I could have time to finish. I would also blend colors and use the mixer brush tool as well.

Tattoo Reflection
After completing my tattoo composition, I really enjoyed doing this assignment and I am happy with the way my work came out. I believe the best area of my composition, technically speaking, is the design of my tattoo. For my tattoo I created a bird and other smaller birds following. The quote I used surrounding it read, "Don't just fly, soar". When creating my tattoo I did not want the main bird to just be plain, so I chose to add one of my favorite patterns, paisley. I also believe another strong area of my finished piece is the positioning of my tattoo. One area of my work where I can improve is dodging the tattoo with my skin. I believe I did good with making the tattoo look more natural, but I think if I worked longer I could have done a better job.
I think the easiest part of this assignment was drawing my tattoo. From the beginning, I knew what I wanted to create and the quote I wanted to use as well. I liked being able to create something of my own and not take a tattoo that was already used. I think the most difficult thing about this assignment was making the tattoo look normal. It took me a little while to get the tattoo positioned, using warp, the way I wanted it. It also took me longer to blend with my skin. To make my original drawing I used blank paper, a pencil, and then outlined in black pen. For the Photoshop portion of my assignment I used warp tool, free transform, dodge and burn, effects, and blur tool. Each of these materials helped complete the overall look of my tattoo and I enjoyed learning how they work.
I believe that I successfully displayed the objectives of this assignment because of the way I executed my tattoo on me. I was able to position the tattoo using warp and free transform, making it look naturally shaped on my arm. I used dodge and burn and also the blur tool to make the tattoo look more natural on my skin tone. If I did this assignment again I do not think I would change much with the actual tattoo. The only thing I might do differently is taking more time on blending the tattoo to match my skin even more perfectly.
